Netiquette Applicable to the Publication of Content on Social Media Pages Connected to the Québec Portal, the Citizens Website and Enterprises Website

Netiquette is a set of rules governing conduct and courtesy in Web-based communications. To ensure healthy and constructive discussions, the netiquette below must be respected in any messages you publish on social media pages connected to the Québec Portal, the Citizens website and the Enterprises website.

Citizens can express themselves freely on these social media pages, in a spirit of civic-mindedness. Everyone is free to make comments, ask questions and mention feelings to provide input for a healthy, constructive discussion. Respect and courtesy are essential to ensure that the discussions remain profitable for everyone.

For this reason, any content that is

  • discriminatory, defamatory, abusive, coarse, hateful or offensive, or has sexual connotations;
  • promotional or advertising-related, whether personal or commercial;
  • partisan;
  • unrelated, muddled, inaccurate or untruthful;
  • posted repeatedly in a short space of time;

will be deleted without further notice.

Specific or personal cases should not be discussed. Any personal or confidential information will be removed as soon as possible to ensure its protection. The MTESS will not collect or release any personal or confidential information concerning the users of pages under its responsibility.

The inclusion of a link to another site is authorized. However, the MTESS is not responsible for the content of such sites.

Compliance with these Netiquette rules

By joining a discussion on the social media pages associated with the Québec Portal, Citizens website and Enterprises website, users agree to comply with these Netiquette rules. Users who fail to comply will see their comments removed without further notice, and their access to the social media pages may be blocked.
