Overview
The media arts sector includes film, video and new media, an expression term for art based on the use of information and communication technologies such as computers, electronics, digitization, sound production, interaction or the Internet.
Québec today has around twenty centres for the production and dissemination of media arts.
Programming initiatives by museums, centres for experimental production and the Cinémathèque québécoise (Québec film library), one-off performances by independent organizations and commissioners, and festivals make up the ecology of the system.
