Interdisciplinary art specialists

Although interdisciplinary artwork is exhibited in spaces such as concert halls, galleries and general artist-run centres, some sites and events have chosen to specialize in exhibiting this artwork:

  • théâtre La Chapelle was founded in 1990 in Montreal to show multidisciplinary artwork and feature new artistic practices, young artists and multidisciplinary shows.
  • The Complexe Méduse in Quebec City houses several artist-run centres in a wide range of disciplines, residences and multifunctional performance spaces.
  • L’Agence Topo is an artist-run centre with programming that is situated at the crossroads of visual arts, literature and new media.
  • Dare-Dare is an exhibition centre for visual arts, music, space occupation, performance and emerging practices.
  • The Mois Multi is annual event held by Productions Recto-Verso in Quebec City that is dedicated to hybrid forms of art, which often incorporate a great deal of technology in them.
  • Voix d’Amériques is a festival with a literary focus but also includes multidisciplinary performances that often lead to a whole series of innovative spin-off projects.
  • Folie/Culture is an organization that explores the connection between art and mental health through initiatives and activities that incorporate cultural and social elements.
