The world of comedy and variety shows, including popular music, enjoys wide distribution throughout Québec thanks to the presence of multifunctional performance spaces and distribution channels that connect cities and towns across the province. Here are a few examples:
- The Théâtre du Cuivre in Rouyn-Noranda, Abitibi, where creative works have been performed since 1968.
- The Quai des arts in Carleton-sur-Mer, Gaspésie, a multifunctional centre that puts on variety, visual arts and media arts shows.
- The Centre culturel de l’Université de Sherbrooke in the Eastern Townships and its Maurice-O’Bready auditorium.
- En Spectacle, which represents 3 performance spaces in Trois-Rivières, Mauricie.
- The Centre des arts de Baie-Comeau, which was renovated in 2010, has 2 auditoriums that seat an audience of 840 and 300 respectively.
- Le Domaine Forget, in Charlevoix, which performs shows all year round and hosts an international festival during the summer season.
