Agent-General : Pierre Boulanger
Mr. Boulanger has extensive experience in the fields of business and international relations. In 1974, he began his diplomatic career with the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs. His initial posting was at the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City as vice-consul and second secretary. He subsequently served as an information program officer in Africa and Western Europe. After pursuing his career at the Canadian Consulate General in Boston, he joined the Canadian Embassy in Paris, where he completed two non-consecutive terms as a trade delegate and investment counsellor.
Upon his return to Québec in 1993, Mr. Boulanger took up the position of president and general manager of the Greater Québec Economic Development Corporation (SPEQM). He was subsequently appointed vice-president of business development at CO2 Solution Inc. He went on to serve as chair and general manager of the National Capital Commission (2003-2005) and as president and general manager of the Québec City 400th Anniversary Society (2005-2008).
Mr. Boulanger received a degree in administrative sciences from Laval University in 1973 and a master’s degree in city planning from Boston University in 1981; he completed an advanced certificate program in economics at Harvard University in 1982.
