Merit scholarships for foreign students taking vocational training

Target clientele

These merit scholarships are primarily geared toward foreign students who would like to study full-time in a vocational training program leading to a vocational diploma (diplôme d’études professionnelles/DEP) or an attestation of vocational specialization (attestation de spécialisation professionnelle/ASP). Your admission chances will be enhanced if your home country is:

  • Located within one of the high-potential markets in Asia (China, India and Japan) or the Americas (Brazil and Mexico).
  • A developing country within La Francophonie.

Precedence will be given to students enrolled in one of 50 DEC or ASP programs offering favourable employment prospects.

Award amounts

The scholarship award amounts vary depending on the duration of the training program:

  • $10,000 for a program of 900 hours or less.
  • $1,000 more for each additional 100 hours. The maximum total award amount is $19,000 for a program of 1,800 hours.

If you are awarded one of these scholarships, you will be exempted from paying the supplemental tuition fees that foreign students are usually required to pay.

Under certain conditions, the cost of health/hospitalization insurance may also be covered.

Would you like to apply?

Candidates are pre-selected by the school boards, which then submit the applications to the program administrator, Éducation Internationale, which ultimately determines the award winners.
