International actions
Quebecers consider the rights recognized by Québec’s Charter of human rights and freedoms as universal rights, which is one of the reasons they become involved in international humanitarian activities.
It is important for Quebecers to play a role within the international community and to uphold several key principles:
- social equity;
- justice;
- open-mindedness;
- good citizenship;
- respect;
- tolerance.
The Québec government promotes this approach and encourages assistance and solidarity initiatives through a series of programs specially designed to support international projects.
