A core value
Solidarity contributes to the development and cohesiveness of society in Québec. Both the government and various organizations work to strengthen the social structure, in particular by promoting volunteer work.
In Québec, the Secrétariat à l'action communautaire autonome du Québec (Québec secretariat for independent community action) has the mission of promoting and supporting voluntary participation by:
- informing organizations about the government programs and resources available to them;
- publicizing the accomplishments and dedication of volunteers and community organizations, through the Hommage bénévolat-Québec (Québec volunteer homage) award scheme.
