Ginette Chenard was appointed Québec Delegate in Atlanta on October 2, 2006. Immediately prior to her appointment, Ms. Chenard headed the United States and North America branches of the Department of International Relations. She had previously overseen the Ministère des Relations internationales’ analysis, policy and globalization unit.

From September 1989 to July 1990, Ms. Chenard held an international business consulting position in the University of Montreal’s continuing education department. From 1985 to 1988, she served as academic affairs assistant and institutional relations advisor in the public affairs division of the Canadian Embassy in Washington. From 1976 to1977, she was a project manager in the West Africa branch of the Canadian International Development Agency.

Ms. Chenard holds a doctorate in political science, international relations and global political economics from the University of Montreal, in addition to a master’s in political science from the University of Ottawa and an honours bachelor’s degree in history and political science from the University of Québec at Montreal.

In addition, Ms. Chenard has acquired considerable experience in the fields of education, policy analysis, consulting, research and management through her various positions in the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de la Métropole and in the Ministère des Transports.
