Tipping
In Québec, tipping is a means of expressing thanks for the quality of service provided. In most instances, the tip is not included in the total amount shown on the bill. The standard is 15%, but the amount is left to the customer’s discretion. In Québec, people tip the following employees:
- servers in restaurants
- bartenders and bar servers
- home delivery persons
- hairdressers
- taxi drivers
- gas station attendants
- porters
