Holidays - construction sector
In Québec, the last two full weeks in July are known as the “construction holiday”, when practically all construction workers are on compulsory leave.
Many other Quebecers choose the same two weeks for their summer vacation, travelling long distances by car. Traditionally, the “construction holiday” results in a mass exodus and heavy traffic at the beginning and end of the 14-day period.
