Non-denominational, co-educational schools

The state has a duty to protect the freedom of conscience of its citizens, by ensuring that the denominational nature of public schools, or the religious instruction they provide, does not infringe on the religious beliefs of the students who attend the school.

Québec’s public schools admit students of both sexes, while some of its private schools are boys-only or girls-only.
