Climate Change: Additional Financial Support for the Climat Municipalités Program

Québec is allocating an additional $2 million to the Climat municipalités program. This initiative aims to ensure optimal use of the Green Fund toreach Québec’sgoals in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Launched in 2009, this program provides financial support to local municipalities, regional county municipalities,intermunicipal management boardsand urban agglomeration councils. Its purpose isto develop inventoriesof GHG emissions, action plans for reducing GHG emissionsand plans for adapting to climate change impacts.

So far, 140 Québec municipalities have received financial support under the program.
