Passing of Bill 23 Amending Various Public Sector Pension Plans

In addition to providing the possibility of maximizing the escalator clause of the pension portion paid by participants from 1982 to 1999, this act provides an annual update of actuarial valuations to improve the monitoring of the financial situation of the Government and Public Employees Retirement Plan (RREGOP).

The act allows active participants of the TPP (Teachers’ Pension Plan) and RRF (Québec Civil Service Superannuation Plan) to accumulate up to 38 years of service for the calculation of their pension, as is already the case under the RREGOP and the Pension Plan of Management Personnel (PPMP).
