The Select Committee on Dying with Dignity Tables Its Report
Improved palliative care and another option for cases of unbearable suffering
Apart from essential definitions and legal concepts, this report includes two main sections.
The first section discusses end-of-life care and deals with the questions of refusal and cessation of treatment, palliative care, palliative sedation and planning for end-of-life care in the case of incapacity.
The second section presents the results of the committee members' reflection on euthanasia. More specifically, it describes the context, the arguments for and against the practice and explains the position of the committee members.
