Workforce Development

The ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale has the lead responsibility in various areas of employment and workforce.

The Ministry works together with national, regional and local partners, including the Labour Market Partners Commission and the regional councils of labour market partners, the workforce sectorial committees and local communities. It also works in close cooperation with various community organizations active in such areas as employment, poverty alleviation and rights advocacy. Top of page

Emploi-Québec

As an agency of the ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale, Emploi-Québec's mission is to promote employment and workforce development and to combat unemployment, exclusion and poverty. It provides universal labour market information along with employability assessment, job placement and front line services. Emploi-Québec also supports businesses in areas of human resource management and work organization.

Local Employment Centres

Emploi Québec’s network consists of some 150 local employment centres (LECs) and service points. The local employment centres provide services and resources to people requiring employment assistance or last resort financial assistance. They support employers in managing and developing human resources skills.

Placement Étudiant (student placement) is another service provided by Emploi-Québec. The Placement Étudiant website is aimed at students looking for work and public or private sector employers seeking to hire students. Top of page
